My goal in creating images is to cause one to pause for a moment, look and ponder. Each photo reflects my belief that we are challenged by uncertainty and blessed with mystery. Rio Querencia, River of Serenity, is both a state of mind and my home on the Applegate River in Southern Oregon.
Norm began painting watercolors in the early 80's; more than just pretty land- scapes, he strives to capture scenes that convey a narrative and engage the viewer on a deeper level. His paintings have sold nationally and internationally. A juried member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and the Pastel Society of Oregon, Norm co-founded the Plein Air Society of Southern Oregon, is a member of
Southern Oregon Society of Artists, and teaches watercolors, pastels and acrylics locally.
My art is guided by my instincts, my curious nature & sense of discovery, and great music rocking on my stereo. My goal is not perfection but rather to honestly represent my efforts & the outcome each new creation presents, whether it's capturing the alluring beauty of a woman or the juxtaposition of various metals & found objects together to create a unique piece of art. I currently work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, metal (copper's a favorite) and photography.
Ron specializes in black & white imagery using traditional techniques; Dee, an artist, works in color and loves using her computer to work with the images she's taken. Together they travel the Western states capturing new images and creating fine photography, both independently and as a team whose collaborations artfully blend their combined talents.
A mixed media artist, I am inspired by the natural history of the mountains and river lands in Southern Oregon. I love collage and book arts and have shown my art throughout the US and locally at
Illahe Gallery in Ashland and Paschal Winery in Talent. I have been published in online collaborations and art zines, nationally in Cloth Paper Scissors, and I'm a featured artist in "The Pulse of Mixed Media" by Seth Apter. I also teach and design art workshops.
