My art and subject matter is governed by my intuition as well as my emotional responses. Unconscious archetypal energies are a strong influence in all that I do. Listening to the voice within allows me freedom from obsessive perfection, as the perfection of intuition guides my art experience. See Charu's listing in the Teaching Artists category.

The artworks of Catie Faryl address the ambiguity and poignancy of the human condition. Through a study of personal, political, environmental and social issues and the world we live in, she creates watercolors, etchings and oil paintings to shed light and raise questions on difficult topics by using humor, balance, insight and grativity to explore questions both new and old. Join her journey which begins with curiosity and progresses to discoveries and dialogue with those along the way.

I am an art maker, pathfinder and storyteller. I use whatever materials inspire me to begin my journey. My style is a blend of Folk and Fantasy art, a fusion of what I see everyday, dream and imagine. My paintings evolve over many layers, using paint, marks and intuition to find the quiet, soulful figures I call my Urban Folk. I am on a journey, exploring the path of intuitive art, listening to the voice within to learn, create and share what I find.

A mixed media artist, I am inspired by the natural history of the mountains and river lands in Southern Oregon. I love collage and book arts and have shown my art throughout the US and locally at Illahe Gallery in Ashland and Paschal Winery in Talent. I have been published in online collaborations and art zines, and nationally in Cloth Paper Scissors. I am also a featured artist in "The Pulse of Mixed Media" by Seth Apter, and I teach and design art workshops.
