My background in art education empha- sizes a strong foundation of classical art training, greatly influencing my artistic focus and direction. My intent is to capture, on paper or canvas, mysterious and thought provoking scenes. Nature with its moods and soft edges has always inspired me to draw and paint abstracts, landscapes or figure studies. My art is in private collections nationwide; I've exhibited in galleries and juried shows in S. California, NW Arkansas and S. Oregon.

A painter and poet, I play in the crossroads of art & spirit. My paintings are visual stanzas of a poem I will spend my life writing - with brush & pen. I've had the honor to create and exhibit art in the United States, Europe & Micronesia. "As with poetry, painting is either a battle or a dance. Given the choice between music & a sword, I choose music." It's a lovely dance. Anna teaches workshops in prophetic art and poetry; see her listing in the Teaching Artists directory.

Painting is my way of expressing an emotion or moment in time to share with others. I paint a variety of subjects in many mediums and find in each a joyful challenge; I'm currently experimenting with abstract expressionism. I show my work at the Portland Art Museum, in numerous galleries throughout Southern Oregon, and at the Saatchi Gallery in London. My father was an artist and my great, great grandfather was George Inness, an artist of the Hudson River School.
I entered my first competition in 1957, in Redding, California, my home town. Those first two paintings took 1st in oil and Best of Show. Today, after 60 years of painting, I feel free to paint what wants to be painted and sometimes, it's a surprise to me what comes off the easel. My intention and objective is always to express Love and to uplift and to enliven the viewer.
